Bedroom Rehabilation

Somehow this last week/weekend, I was able to manage the energy to repaint/rehab my bedroom. I had been sleeping with the same white walls for the last four years. It wasn’t working for me anymore. The bedroom is still in progress but I was able to make it habitable this last weekend.

You can see on the right-hand side, the paint colors I was contemplating. I used Glidden colors. No particular reason, I just like the colors. Plus, they had great little paint sample bottles that you could buy for a couple of dollars each. So which one do you like? Here, I will give you a better view.

This is a view of the three colors at night. I also reviewed them in the morning. And I also put them on all four walls. I became partial to the lighter two colors. I also needed a lighter color because the bedroom is small and gets a large amount of sunlight.

The prep work of course took forever. I hate painting BUT it is the best thing to make a room look like new. So you want to know what the winning color was? Here it is…

I don’t have a headboard so I substituted a peacock mirror and a shelf unit as the pseudo headboard.

And I don’t have normal nightstands. So I bought matching foldable tables at Ross. Then I bought sheets of plastic polycarbonate at Home Depot and cut them down to size to fit on top.

I moved two matching lamps from the living room into the bedroom for symmetry. And I think it turned out pretty good. What do you think?

There are still some other projects that I would like to finish in this room. But I think I made a pretty good start. It makes me want to take a nap…or go have a Creamsicle Cocktail;)
