It Must Be The Short Hair.

About two weeks ago, I had my hair cut. A longer bob-length, my hair now almost reaches my shoulders. I have determined that I am not meant to have long hair. I have determined the same about not having blond hair. It just isn’t me.

Flash Forward to Last Week:

Setting: Early Morning, I am making my way past the reception area to my cubicle.

Receptionist: Oh! You got your hair cut. When did you get it cut?

Lynne with an E: Yep. I got it cut last week.

Receptionist: Well, you know, guys like long hair…

Lynne with an E: Complete Silence

I have so many responses I would like to give, but at the same time, I have nothing to say. This statement, from a fellow female, so antiquated and petty in so few words. Never mind all my other accomplishments in life, I have just cut my lovely locks so my chances of “catching” a man and being a “success” have just fallen to the ground along with those brunet strands.

Here’s an observation I have after this ignorant remark plus watching some of these so-called reality shows like The Real Housewives of New York. Be kind to fellow females. We have a tendency to tear apart our own gender. And there is nothing to be gained from it. I know I have been guilty of it many times. But I can accomplish so much more in life if I just stick to fostering relationships rather than tearing them down.

We are an amazing gender, capable of accomplishing so much with so little. So  why do we spend so much of our time tearing each other apart? It is something I am definitely taking to heart.

And no, I am not growing out my hair or getting hair extensions.

Much Love for All Sisterhood,

Lynne with an E…xceptionally Cute Short Haircut
