Saturday Hike: Batiquitos Lagoon

Living in California, you are constantly surrounded by people. I hadn’t been hiking for awhile and when a friend suggested a trail walk at the Batiquitos Lagoon, I instantly agreed. Located in Carlsbad, a coastal city in North San Diego County, the Batiquitos Lagoon trail was beautiful. The weather was the quintessential “June Gloom” but no bugs to be found.

Being that it is San Diego and a beautiful Saturday morning, there were many people on the trails. The people of San Diego, on the whole, are friendly and laid-back. That was very evident on the trails, with the amounts of “mornin’s” and “hi there’s” being extended. And even though there were many people on the trails, it was great to be out, taking in the air and recalling all the reasons I am lucky to live in San Diego.
