San Diego has a huge history with the Navy. It is a port city with a safe harbor. All over San Diego, you will meet people with a connection to the Navy. My life is directly connected to the Navy.

My dad became a naval officer after college. He grew up in Queens, NYC. When he was requesting his assignment in the navy, he requested a big ship, based on the east coast. He received a little ship, based on the west coast. If my father had never been based in San Diego, he never would have met my mother. Funny how such small decisions may have such a large impact on your life and others.
