Well, Spring is officially here. And for California, we know it by the abundance of oranges growing all over the dang place. Spend the whole time trying to figure out different ways to use the darn things. And for all the adults out there I thought I would find a unique way to celebrate this gorgeous fruit. Reliving being a kid while enjoying the benefit of being an adult at the same time. So here it is…the Creamsicle (50/50 Bar) Cocktail.
Ingredients:
- 3 parts Vanilla Vodka
- 1 part Cointreau
- 3 parts orange juice
So I will explain “parts” in the recipe. So whatever form of measurement you use (shot glass, thimble cover of shaker, cup, metal bucket, etc.), the ratio will be 3:1:3. I use the thimble cover of my cocktail shaker, so I fill it three times with Vanilla Vodka and pour into cocktail shaker. Fill thimble 1 time with Cointreau. If necessary, you could use Triple Sec (bleh, bleh, bleh), but I highly advise Cointreau. Then fill thimble three times with orange juice. Now, add a ton of ice to the shaker, seal it tight and shake away. Pour into pretty cocktail glass. Do a little happy dance. And add in any special signature moves that you may have created. What?!! You don’t have your own signature dance moves? Well, work on it. And no, I am not showing you mine.
Back to the important stuff. The Creamsicle Cocktail. Enjoy this lovely little present of orange and vanilla goodness.

One question: Did you wear your ballet slippers (with or w/o elastic) for the Happy Dance?
P.S. Looks good. I want one!
